Past perfect tense
जब कोई काम भूतकाल मैं पूरी तरह समाप्त हो गया हो तो हम past prefect tense का प्रयोग करते हैं | past prefect टेंस मैं verb की 3rd form का प्रयोग होता है |
वह जा चूका था |

जब किसी वाक्य मैं दो काम ख़त्म हो रहे होते हैं और एक काम पहले ख़त्म होता है और दुसरा काम बाद मैं तब हम पहले ख़त्म होने वाले वाक्य को past prefect टेंस मैं बनाते हैं और बाद मैं ख़त्म होने वाले वाक्य को past indefinite मैं बनाते हैं |
जैसे
उसके आने से पहले मैं काम ख़त्म कर चूका था |
I had finished my work before he came.
इस वाक्य में मैं काम ख़त्म कर चूका था वाला sentence को past perfect मैं बनाया गया हैं क्योंकि काम पहले ख़त्म हुआ और उसके आने वाली क्रिया बाद मैं हुई है |
मैं तुम्हारे जाने के बाद उससे मिलने गया था |

इस वाक्य मैं जाने का काम पहले हुआ हैं और मिलने का काम बाद मैं इसलिए उससे मिलने गया था वाला sentence past indefinite मैं बना है और जाने के बाद वाला past prefect tense मैं बना है |
